07th December 2003 | And how the heavens lined up…
What a year. I fell in love (possibly), had my heart broken (definitely), lost my job (then started my own business) and gained a few good friends (hi to the revolution crew and the EUWDPC™!).
Despite all this activity I suspect I’m going to spend the last moments of the year exactly where I started it: pining over The Girl With The Prettiest Eyes In The World and wishing I’d had more to drink. We shall see.
Anyhow, until 2004: sayonara! I’m shutting up shop for the holidays. Time to concentrate on drinking, dancing and steering well clear of computers for a couple of weeks. Feel free to look at some older stuff in the meantime. I'll be back in the New Year and, god knows, might even spruce things up a bit round here.
Happy Holidays!
Daniel
Oh, by the way: if anyone is interested the page title is from the lyrics of a song called “Sail” by Aim/Kate Rodgers. The full thing:
It’s just some of the things he said
keep going ’round inside my head
“I’m gonna save my soul
before things get impossible”
I should’ve seen the signs
they were right before my eyes
he could’ve saved my soul.
A fog rolled across the bay
I think I saw him sail away
now like those before
I’m just another body washed up on the shore
a curse on my bones
we made a pact among the stones
he could’ve saved my soul
he could’ve saved my soul.
Take me in your arms.
Do you recall the time
I think you just must have lost your mind
affected by the sun
and how the heavens lined up as we made our run
blood stained the lanes
and I could barely feel the pain
I loved you so much more
I loved you so much more.
Take me in your arms.
We saw gunpowder paint the sky
demons hung out to dry
how many hours to go
before the next ice age suffocates the globe
sandstones remain
a sea of angels crossed the plain
they never save my soul
they never save my soul.
No particular reason to have that here other than it seems to go with the picture, and it’s the only thing I’ve been listening too since she left on Monday morning.
You can hear a sample here if you’ve got nothing better to do.
